# Quickstart

> From sign-up to your coding agent briefed on your customer, in five steps.

**1. Sign up**

Go to [app.openscaffold.ai](https://app.openscaffold.ai), sign up, and create a workspace for your team (or accept an invite to one).

**2. Connect your coding agent**

Claude Code:

```bash theme={null}
npx @openscaffold/cli@latest login
```

Click **Approve** in the browser. Cursor, Codex, VS Code and others: [Connect your coding agent](https://docs.openscaffold.ai/coding-agents.md).

**3. Set up your customer**

Paste this into your coding agent:

```text Prompt theme={null}
Set up OpenScaffold: read https://docs.openscaffold.ai/agent-quickstart.md (curl it if you can run commands) and follow it.
```

Your agent works out the customer, opens the page to connect Gmail, Slack or your call recorder (or uses a folder you name), creates the deployment and builds the plan. A few minutes. Or skip the agent: `npx @openscaffold/cli@latest setup acme.com ./customer-docs` does sign-in, deployment, files and plan in one command. Or do it in the app: **New deployment**, then drop the files on Sources.

**4. Work**

Open Claude Code in your repo. With the CLI it loads the customer you chose: after **Start building** in the app, or the one set with `OPENSCAFFOLD_DEPLOYMENT=<deployment id>` in the repo's `.claude/settings.local.json` `env`; otherwise say `load <customer>`. Ask it to build something; it searches the customer's material before assuming. Say "check my work" and OpenScaffold reviews the change against the plan and the customer's rules. Anything waiting on you shows under **Needs you** at the top of the deployment's Customer, Build or Playbooks tab.
